Boldstream lets you test creative, messaging and ideas against synthetic audience panels - groups of AI respondents that think and react like your real customers. You get the built-in UK panels as standard, but we can also build custom panels around the audiences that actually matter to your brand.
Here's what a custom panel is, and what we need from you to build one.
What a custom audience panel is
Each panel is a group of around 100 synthetic respondents, built to mirror a specific audience you care about - say, "family holiday planners" or "independent experience-seekers". Once it's live, you can put headlines, social posts, concepts and positioning in front of it and see how that audience is likely to react, in seconds.
And you're not limited to one. Build a panel per segment and you can run the same idea past different audiences and compare how each responds.
When to use it
You want to test against your customers, not a generic national panel
You market to more than one audience and want to see how they differ
You're pressure-testing creative or messaging before it goes anywhere near launch
What we need from you
For each audience, send us the following. Rough bullets are completely fine - and the more colour you add to the second point, the more lifelike the panel.
Panel name - a short label for the segment, like "Family Holiday Planners". Describe the audience, not your brand.
Who they are - 2–3 sentences on their age, life stage, interests, and how they behave online. This is the one that matters most, so be as specific as you can.
Brands they buy or follow - a handful of brands this audience is loyal to or engages with.
Example profiles (optional) - names, handles or links for 2–3 real people who fit, like creators they follow. It helps us anchor the panel in reality.
What a good brief looks like
Panel name: Effortless Experience Planners
Who they are: Typically around 38, settled and family-focused, usually married or living with a partner and with children. They value convenience, reliability and low-stress experiences that make family life easier. Online they're practical and research-led - comparing options, saving tips, and following family travel and lifestyle inspiration before they commit.
Brands they buy or follow: John Lewis, M&S, Next, Tesco, Center Parcs, Airbnb, Booking.com, TUI, Disney, IKEA.
Example profiles: @thetravelmum, @travelynnfamily, @frugalmum

Send your completed brief to your Boldstream contact.
We build each panel - usually within a working day.
Your panels appear in the platform, ready to test creative and ideas against whenever you need.
If you'd like to validate something with real people rather than synthetic respondents, ask your Boldstream contact about the Human Panel Expert, which fields a survey to a real UK consumer panel.
