Track competitor moves with the Competitor Monitor agent

Reads competitors' key pages — pricing, positioning, products — and translates current signals into prioritised action for your brand.

The Competitor Monitor agent reads your competitors' key pages — pricing, positioning, product, messaging, careers — and translates what's currently visible into prioritised actions for your brand.

It's not a static intel report. The agent surfaces what changed since last time it looked, flags the strategic implications, and gives you a clear set of moves to consider — defensive plays, offensive plays, or things worth tracking but not acting on yet.

Before you start

  • Your competitor list should be current in the platform

  • Have a sense of what you care about (pricing changes, messaging shifts, product launches, talent moves)

How to run a monitor

Step 1: Open the agent

From the sidebar, open Agent Library and search for Competitor Monitor, or go directly to app.boldstream.ai/run?agent=competitor-monitor. Select your client and click Run Agent.

Step 2: Confirm scope

The agent confirms which competitors to include, which pages to read (homepage, pricing, product, positioning, careers — or all of them), and what category of signals you care about most.

Step 3: Read the live signals

The agent reads each competitor's pages live, capturing screenshots, surfacing what's currently on display, and flagging meaningful changes since the last run if there's history to compare against.

Step 4: Read the synthesis

The agent translates signals into category narrative:

  • What changed and what's stable

  • The angle each competitor is leaning into right now

  • Pricing or product moves that affect competitive positioning

  • Messaging shifts worth borrowing from or pushing against

  • Signals to watch — early indicators that don't warrant action yet

Step 5: Get the action list

Final output is a prioritised set of moves: defensive plays (what to protect), offensive plays (where the opportunity is), and observations to track. Each move is evidenced with the actual screenshot or quote that surfaced it.

💡 Tip: Schedule the agent as a routine to run weekly or monthly. Competitive intelligence compounds — running the agent regularly builds a richer change log over time.

What's next?

Pair with the Share of Search Analysis agent if competitor moves prompt a strategic conversation — one tells you what they're doing, the other tells you whether it's working.
