Teach Boldstream your business's own terms

Save your reporting year, shorthand and counting rules once in Brand Hub — data answers then speak your language.

Written by Dan Pillay

Every business has its own shorthand — a financial year that doesn't match the calendar, initials like "NB" and "RN", and house rules about what counts as a sale. You can now save those conventions once, and Boldstream will apply them whenever you ask about your numbers — no need to explain yourself in every conversation.

How to set it up

Step 1: Open your Brand Hub

In the left sidebar, open KnowledgeBrand Hub, scroll to Brand Overview and click the edit icon.

Step 2: Fill in Data definitions

Write your conventions in plain English in the new Data definitions box — the words you use, what they mean, and how you like things counted.

Step 3: Save

Click Save. Your definitions now sit alongside your tone, audience and style — and every data conversation reads them before answering.

💡 Tip: Short and specific works best — you have up to 500 characters. Three things worth covering: your reporting year ("our financial year runs February to January"), your shorthand ("NB = new business"), and how to count ("sales means total order value, never order count").
