Audit paid media performance with the Paid Campaign Report agent

Pull live paid media performance, score keywords by weighted waste, and get a Monday-Friday roadmap to bring CPA back on target.

Written by Dan Pillay

The Paid Campaign Report agent pulls your live paid media performance, scores every campaign and keyword against your target CPA, and hands you a prioritised 7-day optimisation roadmap. It works across Google Ads, Meta, AppsFlyer and GA4 — anywhere your paid media data is connected.

Unlike a generic dashboard, the agent applies a Weighted Waste methodology — Spend × Performance Gap — to surface the keywords and campaigns burning budget hardest, ranked by the £ impact of fixing them. It also distinguishes scale candidates (limited-by-budget campaigns with strong CPA) from waste pools (overspending with weak CPA) so you know where to push and where to pull.

Before you start

  • Make sure your paid media platforms are connected to your analytics dashboards

  • Have a target CPA in mind for the audit

  • Recent conversion lag exports help, but aren't required — the agent flags an assumption if missing

How to run an audit

Step 1: Open the agent

From the sidebar, open Agent Library and search for Paid Campaign Report, or go directly to app.boldstream.ai/run?agent=paid-campaign-report. Select the client you want to audit and click Run Agent.

Step 2: Pick a pathway

The agent opens with three options:

  • Express (15–20 min) — quick weekly read on a single account or campaign

  • Structured (45–60 min) — full 5-pillar audit with packaged PDF roadmap

  • Conversational — talk through what's worrying you and narrow into the right diagnostic together

Step 3: Confirm scope

The agent runs Phase 0 — Data Source Discovery first. It checks which platforms are connected, lists what live data is available, and asks you to confirm the audit scope: account(s) in focus, target CPA, date range, and any specific campaigns to prioritise.

If only file exports are available (no live connection), the agent flips to file-only mode and tells you upfront.

Step 4: Read the audit

The Structured pathway delivers a 5-pillar audit:

  1. Structure & Signal — flags low-volume ad groups for consolidation

  2. Budget Efficiency — scale candidates vs. waste pools, side-by-side

  3. Keyword Weighted Waste — top 20 keyword drains, ranked by Weighted Waste score

  4. Keyword Decay — keywords with high spend and zero conversions

  5. Active Campaigns — exclusion list of inactive campaigns

Step 5: Get the roadmap

The final output is an executive summary, your Top 7 priorities ranked by £ impact per week, a search term drain table, and a Monday-Friday action plan you can hand to the team — packaged as a downloadable PDF.

💡 Tip: The agent applies an anti-prediction guardrail — it won't promise specific CPA outcomes or virality. Instead it gives you historical correlations and sensitivity ranges, which makes recommendations defensible in trading meetings.

What's next?

Re-run the agent next week to check directional movement. Performance changes typically take 7-14 days of algorithmic learning to stabilise, so weekly cadence is the right rhythm for ongoing optimisation.
